In November, 2007, I bid and won a 408 cabinet & 320 head (item Number 200169052553 seller Id spliffpfunk).
What happened when I went to pick up the amp in North Port, Florida was beyond belief. The seller first off
didn't disclose the fact the head had issues. The volume knob had to be jiggled after the auction ended seller stated in a email something to the effect,
Ill show you some tricks. The seller as far as I am concerned withheld vital info from the would be buyers. When I got to the sellers home the equipment was
out side by the garage door the amp was plugged in no sound came out. The head was then plugged into another cabinet sure enough there
were issues with the head it did require servicing. The cabinet had issues too it was rolled back into the garage. I was the one who
actually moved it. I became more suspicious. I have handled 408 bottoms before and this cabinet seemed too light. When we went into the garage I was floored
there were clones of Sunn amps, Marshall's, and Fender's. The garage wreaked of paint it was a production facility. This guy was cloning cabinets and putting logos on them. The seller started removing one of the 408 speakers with a power drill gun. I said to him
this isn't right all this should have been disclosed. The guy exploded and came at me he shoved me was cursing me out and started screaming to one of his
buddies in the house to call the police. This lunatic was swinging a screw gun at me. He got pissed as if how dare I ask questions. I said yeah do me a favor
call the police unfortunately my cell phone was in the car, the police were not called. This guy probably realized and so did his buddy
how will they explain the illegal counterfeiting shop in a residential neighborhood the bootleg items were right in plain site. Also I
was ASSAULTED and they were violating major EPA rules with the commercial painting. Ultimately the schmuck threw my money back at me and told me to get the
F%^K out. Several days later I reported the incident to the police and Ebay. Just recently, I saw a 408 cabinet listed and its located not to far from North
Port. I could swear the cabinet has the same rash on it but I am not 100% sure. I could not help but wonder if
by some chance it was the same cabinet. Not long after the fall out, the seller Ebay user ID is no longer registered and the seller
before he went cookoo looney tunes did tell me he was moving near by.
Recently another Ebay listing for a 408 cabinet came up in the same vicinity I started emailing other previous buyers asking questions. I also did place a bid on the 408 cab item # 150228539096 interesting for some reason today the Ebay listing was pulled by the seller. Maybe its a coincidence I do not know perhaps it is possible its the same seller maybe or maybe not?
After what I saw in North Port, Florida I am certain there are people who paid big money for what they believe to be valuable old antiques unsuspecting buyers are purchasing bogus copies with name brand logos on them. I hope Acoustic, Fender, Vox and Marshall will pursue this pirate. I will forward name address to attorneys if requested.
